The Cypress Police Department held its annual open house on Saturday, May 6th, 2017, at the Cypress Civic Center. Highlights included a Police K-9 unit demonstration, tours of the police facility, and displays by West County SWAT, Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services, West County Police Communications, Anaheim Mounted Patrol, Orange County Fire Authority, CARE Ambulance, U.S. Naval Weapons Base, DEA, FBI, Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Blood Hound and Bomb Squad Units, and others. Kids of all ages were able to climb on a Navy Patrol Boat, sit behind the wheel of a police car, climb onto a fire truck and many more fun activities. Local service groups generously provided refreshments, and the Cypress Police Foundation offered stuffed police canine toys for those who contributed a $50 minimum donation. The canine toys can still be obtained by donating $50 to the Foundation through a board member or on our website.
